  • Please ensure you have read and understand all installer/owner’s requirements and responsibilities. Deviating from the instructions and recommendations in installation guide may result in voiding the product warranty. If you require additional assistance, please email info@properfloors.ca.

    Proper Floors Limited Warranty guarantees that our product:

    Will not wear through.**

    Will not contain manufacturing defects.

    Will not permanently stain from common household stains when maintained according to instructions supplied with each box.
    WARNING: Never use latex or rubber protective mats.

    Joint Integrity: During the period of the warranty the locking system will not fail when properly installed and maintained according to manufacturer's instructions.
    WARNING: Do NOT install fixed objects such as cabinets, islands, wall units, etc. on top of the flooring or fasten trim/moulding/transition pieces directly to the floor.

    **Wear through is defined as loss of the floor design due to normal household use. We recommend using floor protectors. As a general rule of thumb, the heavier the item, the wider the floor protectors should be.

  • Applies to all Proper Floors SPC Luxury Vinyl flooring w/ 12mil (0.3mm) Wear Layer or 20mil (0.5mm) Wear Layer.

    Proper Floors 25-YEARS LIMITED RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY.

    The product is warrantied to be free from manufacturing defects for 25 years from the date of purchase. If a defect covered by this warranty is reported to Proper Floors in writing within 25 years of purchase. Proper Floors will supply new material of the same or similar grade sufficient to repair or replace the defective material.

  • Applies to all Proper Floors SPC Luxury Vinyl flooring w/ 12mil (0.3mm) Wear Layer or 20mil (0.5mm) Wear Layer.

    Proper Floors 5-YEAR LIMITED COMMERCIAL WARRANTY

    For light commercial installations (example: common areas in multi-unit dwellings and low traffic retail shops).

    The product is warrantied to be free from manufacturing defects for 5 years from the date of purchase. If a defect covered by this warranty is reported to Proper Floors in writing within 5 years of purchase. Proper Floors will supply new material of the same or similar grade sufficient to repair or replace the defective material.

  • If any of the above should occur within the warranty periods specified above for each flooring product, Proper Floors will furnish comparable Proper Floors flooring of similar colour, pattern, and quality, for either the repair of the defective area or the replacement of the floor, at our option. If your floor was professionally installed, Proper Floors will also pay reasonable labour costs for the direct repairs or replacement pending the initial installation was done as per the manufacturer's instructions. If the replacement or repair fails in the same manner a second time, the flooring conditions may not be acceptable for the installation of vinyl tile or plank.

    We want you to be happy with your Proper Floors floor. If an issue arises, call our office at (226) 654-1111. We’d be happy to answer your questions and, if necessary, start to process a claim.

    WARRANTY OWNER.

    This warranty applies only to Professionally Installed, or Do-lt-Yourself (DIY) installations by a homeowner for his or her own residential end use. This warranty extends only to the original end user and is not transferable.

    PLEASE KEEP YOUR RECEIPT.

    Proper Floors needs the flooring receipt in order to verify date and proof of purchase to resolve any problems that may occur. For professionally installed floors, the original receipt for installation labour may also be required.

  • The following scenarios are NOT covered by Proper Floors’ limited warranties:

    • Damage caused by moving appliances across the floor without adequate protection, fire, burns, flooding, excessive moisture, intentional/unintentional abuse, vacuum cleaner beater bar, caster wheels, power/electric wheelchair, indentations, stains, tears, and cutting from sharp objects.

    • Damage or plank separation caused by fixed objects being installed on top of the flooring such as cabinets, islands, etc.

    • Damage caused by mould, mildew, or alkali.

    • Loss of gloss/scratching. (Some dulling may occur over time, depending on the amount of traffic, care, and maintenance the floor receives.)

    • Minor colour, shade or texture variations between samples or printed colour photography and the actual material.

    • Floors that are installed in other than owner-occupied or tenant-occupied residences. (Except products that are noted as warranted for light commercial applications outlined here within).

    • Installation-related errors or damage including improper conditioning of job site and flooring materials and construction damage after installation.

    • Floors discoloured from latex or rubber backed floor mats, moisture, or underlayment panels.

    • Exterior applications.

    • Damage caused by caster wheels, rolling chairs, office chairs, and anything alike.

  • • WHAT DOES 100% WATERPROOF MEAN?
    - When exposed to water, Proper Floors luxury vinyl is waterproof and will not swell, buckle or lose integrity. In the case of standing water or flooding, our flooring will not act as a waterproofing barrier for the subfloor and/or any surrounding structure. Any damage to the subfloor and/or surrounding structure that is caused by standing water or flooding is not covered by this warranty.

    • By starting installation of this product, you are agreeing that you have read and understand all installer/owner’s requirements and responsibilities and are aware that deviating from the instructions and recommendations in this installation guide may result in voiding the product warranty. If you need additional assistance, please contact your place of purchase.

    • Do not install outdoors. Please note that extreme variances in temperature may increase expansion and contraction not only in the flooring itself but the structure as well.

    Do not install fixed objects, such as cabinets, islands, wall units etc. on top of the flooring or fasten trim/moulding/transition pieces directly to the floor.

    • Hard surface mats are required under office chairs. Rolling traffic may damage your flooring and is not warrantied.

    • Manual wheelchairs may damage the floor or cause wear to occur at an accelerated pace.

    • It is the sole responsibility of the installer/owner, prior to installation, to assure that the planned installation area has proper lighting, is suitable for the flooring and meets local building codes. Confirm that all sub-flooring meets or exceeds all industry standards and local building codes; as well as the recommendations listed herein. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for product failure extending from or related to failure to meet job environment and sub-flooring requirements.

    • The installer/owner assumes full responsibility for the final inspection of this product. Inspection should be done prior to installation and should include print/colour/texture/ factory finish /visible conditions. If the product or installation site is not acceptable, DO NOT INSTALL IT. Contact your retailer immediately for assistance. Flooring that has been installed will be deemed to have been inspected and quality accepted. Unfortunately, we will not accept any responsibility for any flooring installed with visible defects.

  • • Three Season rooms & Cottages: Your Luxury Vinyl Flooring can be installed in 3 season environments. It is important to understand; all Luxury Vinyl Flooring approved for areas such as Solariums, Sun Rooms, three season rooms and seasonal cottages can withstand temperature variations ranging from a low -20°F (-29°C) to a high temperature of 150°F (65°C) when not occupied. While occupied, the temperature range requires being maintained between 55°F (13°C) to 100°F (38°C) Note: Special considerations need to be given to proper acclimation and temperature ranges prior to installing in 3 season environments. Verify the temperature fluctuations prior to installation to determine if the area is suitable for LVP flooring.

    • None of our recommended installers, distributors or employees have authority to alter the action, disclaimers or exclusions under any of our warranties.

    WE EXCLUDE AND WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR OR PAY, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES UNDER OUR WARRANTIES.

    We will not be held liable for any loss, expense, or damage other than to the flooring itself that may result from a defect in the flooring.

SPC (12mil & 20mil) Vinyl Plank Flooring

If a defect covered by this warranty is reported to Proper Floors in writing within 30 years of purchase. Proper Floors will supply new material of the same or similar grade sufficient to repair or replace the defective material.

  • Applies to all Proper Floors WPC Luxury Vinyl flooring w/ 22mil (0.55mm) Wear Layer.

    Proper Floors 10-YEARS LIMITED COMMERCIAL WARRANTY.

    For light commercial installations (example: common areas in multi-unit dwellings and low traffic retail shops).

WPC (22mil) Vinyl Plank Flooring

  • Limited Lifetime.

    Applies to all PVC Glue Down Premium Vinyl flooring w/ 20mil (0.50mm) Wear Layer.

    The LIMITED LIFETIME RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY guarantees that the product:

    From the date of purchase will be free from any manufacturers defects. The flooring will not WEAR OUT for a lifetime; 25 years, providing the flooring was installed and maintained properly and used as intended and recommended. WEAR OUT is defined as a complete removal of the pattern and/or colour from normal traffic and maintenance.

    This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and proof of purchase is required for all claims. The warranty is for replacement or refund of the flooring only, excluding labour.

    This warranty is prorated, if you have a residential claim after 5 years; the manufacturer would refund or replace 4/5 of the floor value excluding labour (5 years = 1/5 of lifetime).

    This limited warranty covers the repair or replacement at the manufacturers option of the affected flooring. If repair is not commercially practical, or if the design or model that is claimed is no longer available, the manufacturer will replace the affected materials with another design or model line of equal value.

    This limited warranty is not transferable, and extends only to the original end consumer.

  • Medium Commercial: 15 years.

    Applies to all PVC Glue Down Premium Vinyl flooring w/ 20mil (0.50mm) Wear Layer.

    The LIMITED MEDIUM COMMERCIAL WARRANTY guarantees that the product:

    From the date of purchase will be free from any manufacturers defects. The flooring will not WEAR OUT for a lifetime; 15 years for medium commercial installations, providing the flooring was installed and maintained properly and used as intended and recommended. WEAR OUT is defined as a complete removal of the pattern and/or colour from normal traffic and maintenance.

    This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and proof of purchase is required for all claims. The warranty is for replacement or refund of the flooring only, excluding labour.

    This limited warranty covers the repair or replacement at the manufacturers option of the affected flooring. If repair is not commercially practical, or if the design or model that is claimed is no longer available, the manufacturer will replace the affected materials with another design or model line of equal value.

    This limited warranty is not transferable, and extends only to the original end consumer.

  • This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and proof of purchase is required for all claims. The warranty is for replacement or refund of the flooring only, excluding labour. This limited warranty does not cover damage due to tears, cuts, gouges, scratches, stains, burns, scuffs, indentations, surface wear that is the result of sand or other abrasive materials and any other accidents or abuse, claims will not be considered for any of these problems.

    The flooring must be properly installed in accordance with the installation instructions, and must be used only for indoor areas. This limited warranty does not cover negligence, improper installation, improper maintenance, insufficient protection, improper alterations to the original materials, severe accidents, exposure to extreme heat, burns, fire and all other natural disasters.

    This limited warranty does not cover installations in wet areas, rooms exposed to excessive moisture, rooms exposed to direct sunlight without proper window treatments.

    This limited warranty does not cover the surface wear or damage as a result of abuse, sliding furniture or heavy objects, severe impact, cutting, or chemical damage.

    This limited warranty specifically excludes damage, discolouration due to standing water, urine or other corrosive liquids, excessive subsurface penetration or hydrostatic moisture emissions from concrete, leaking pipes or faucets, appliances, flooding, natural disasters, or Acts of God.

    Flooring installed with any manufacturing defect are not covered by this limited warranty. Any known manufacturing defect must be reported prior to product installation, or under any circumstance, no longer than twenty-five days after the date of purchase to be covered under this limited warranty. Any such defective material will be replaced at no additional cost to the customer. Any claim under this limited warranty shall be made by contacting your retailer within twenty-five days after the defect is detected. Proof of purchase with the date of purchase must be presented with the claim.
